Bingo!

Terms of Service

Last updated: September 13, 2026

These Terms are the agreement between you and the developer of Bingo! ("Bingo", "the App") for your use of the App. Please read them before using it. By downloading, installing, or using Bingo, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

The short version

  • Bingo is yours to use on your own Apple devices, for personal or work purposes.
  • Your tasks belong to you. We never see them.
  • Because iOS won't let any app set the wallpaper directly, the last step always runs through the Shortcuts app.
  • Bingo is a convenience, not a safety system — don't rely on it alone for anything critical.
  • The App is provided "as is", with no warranty.

Acceptance of these Terms

This is a binding agreement between you and the individual developer who publishes Bingo. It also incorporates Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement; where that agreement and these Terms conflict on a point it covers, Apple's terms govern. Our Privacy Policy is part of these Terms.

Who may use Bingo

You must be old enough to enter into a binding contract where you live. Bingo is a general-audience app and is not directed at children: you must be at least 13, and at least 16 if you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, unless the law of your country sets a lower age for consent. If you are a minor, a parent or guardian must read and agree to these Terms on your behalf and supervise your use.

Licence to use the App

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Bingo on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service and Apple's Usage Rules. You may use it for personal or business purposes. You may not:

  • copy, sell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute the App;
  • reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble it, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction;
  • remove or alter any proprietary notices;
  • use it to break the law, infringe anyone's rights, or interfere with other people's devices or services.

We keep all rights we do not expressly grant. The App, its name, icon, artwork, and design are our intellectual property or that of our licensors.

What Bingo does — and what iOS does not allow

Bingo reads a task list, draws it as an image sized to your iPhone's Lock Screen, and hands that image to the Shortcuts app. Two platform limits are part of the product, and you should understand them before relying on it:

  • No app can set your wallpaper. iOS provides no public API for it. The final step is always performed by a shortcut on your device using Apple's built-in "Set Wallpaper" action, which you install and run yourself.
  • The wallpaper is not live. It updates only when one of those shortcuts runs. Between runs, the image on your Lock Screen may not reflect your latest tasks.

Tapping a Lock Screen button also requires unlocking your device first — that is how iOS treats shortcuts that run app actions, and it is not something the App can change.

Your content

Your tasks, lists, and any photo you choose as a background are yours. You keep all rights to them. We claim no licence over them, and — since the App has no servers and transmits nothing — we never receive or see them. You are responsible for the content you put into the App and for making sure you have the right to use any photo you select.

Feedback

If you send us an idea, bug report, feature request, or any other suggestion, you give us permission to use it in the App without restriction, credit, or payment, and you confirm it is yours to give. You keep whatever rights you already had in it — this simply means we do not have to ask again before acting on a suggestion you chose to send us. Please do not send us anything you consider confidential.

Third-party services and shortcuts

Bingo works alongside Apple's Reminders, Photos, and Shortcuts apps, and their use is governed by Apple's own terms and privacy policy. The shortcuts we offer are distributed as signed iCloud links; Apple shows you what each one does before you install it. Please note:

  • iCloud shortcut links carry a signature with an expiry date. If a link stops working, check for an App update, or contact us and we will publish fresh links.
  • If you edit an installed shortcut, rename it, or change its actions, the corresponding button in Bingo may stop working until you reinstall it.
  • We are not responsible for changes Apple makes to iOS, Shortcuts, Reminders, or Photos that affect how Bingo behaves.

Purchases

Bingo is distributed through the App Store. If the App ever offers a paid version, in-app purchase, or subscription, it will be sold and processed by Apple under the App Store Terms of Service, and prices will be shown before you buy. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under its refund policy, not by us. We do not collect or see your payment details.

Updates and availability

We may release updates that add, change, or remove features, and we may discontinue the App at any time. We will try to give reasonable notice of anything that would break an existing setup, but we cannot promise that any particular feature will remain available, or that the App will always be compatible with future versions of iOS. Any copy of the App already installed on your device keeps working until you delete it or it stops being supported by your device.

Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the wallpaper will always render, update, or display correctly.

Please read this one. Bingo is a visual convenience, not a reminder or alerting system. Do not rely on it as your only record of anything time-critical, medical, financial, or legally important. Keep such things in an app designed for it, with alarms you can trust.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you, and nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer under mandatory local law.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, tasks, profits, time, or opportunity, arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use the App — including a missed task, an out-of-date wallpaper, or a shortcut that failed to run — even if we have been advised of the possibility. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 10, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that the law of your country does not allow to be excluded or limited. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

Termination

You may end this agreement at any time by deleting the App from your devices. We may suspend or terminate your licence if you materially breach these Terms; if we do, you must stop using the App and delete it. Ending the agreement does not by itself delete anything you stored — your tasks in Apple Reminders stay in Reminders, and deleting the App removes everything Bingo kept on your device. The sections on your content, feedback, disclaimers, liability, and governing law survive termination.

Apple-specific terms

These clauses are required for apps distributed on the App Store:

  • This agreement is between you and us only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
  • Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support for the App.
  • If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
  • We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third party relating to the App, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection or similar law.
  • We, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling, and discharging any third-party claim that the App infringes that party's intellectual property rights.
  • You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, will have the right to enforce them against you.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China (mainland), without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes that we cannot settle by email may be brought before the competent courts at the developer's place of residence in mainland China.

If you are a consumer, none of that takes away the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country you live in, and you may still bring proceedings in your local courts wherever local law gives you that right.

General

  • Severability. If any part of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, that part is limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary and the rest stays in force.
  • No waiver. If we do not enforce a provision straight away, that is not a waiver of it.
  • Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours to a successor if the App changes hands, provided your rights under these Terms are not reduced.
  • Entire agreement. These Terms, our Privacy Policy, and Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement are the whole agreement between us about the App, and replace anything said earlier.
  • Language. The App is translated into several languages; these Terms are published in English, and the English version governs if a translation ever differs.

Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms as the App changes. The current version always lives at this address, with the date at the top. Material changes will be noted in the App Store release notes. Continuing to use the App after a revision means you accept it; if you do not, please stop using the App and delete it.
